Can you support us with your time?

Thinking about everything that is going on in the world at the moment, a scripture passage comes to mind Ecclesiastes 4.

‘ Again I looked and saw all the oppression that was taking place under the sun. I saw the tears of the oppressed and they have no comforter, power was on the side of their oppressors and they have no comforter.’

Every person here and abroad deserves the same level of kindness, love and decency.

This is something that the CAP debt centre wants to help provide.

‘better are 2 than one! Because they have a good return for their labour. If either of them fall down, one can help them up.’

Today I want us to think about how we can work as a community to help people in debt, in deprevation and those oppressed.

This debt centre will only work if we work as a team, with love and faith in God to help us.

Anyone and everyone can help.

We are looking for donors who could pledge £10 a month to CAP to help support our work in Wythenshawe and SK8, currently we only have half the funding we need. It doesn’t have to be £10, it could be anything from £1, and as Tesco says’ every little helps’.

We are also looking for volunteers.

People to pray, in a group or on their own, people to become befrienders, to text/phone and meet with the clients just to see how they are doing and let them know they are not alone.

People to help advertise the debt centre by handing out leaflets or dropping some posters off to shops, spreading the message when we talk to others.

We require people to help run events when COVID has subsided.

People to help with social media or setting up a website. Helping to raise money to continue the work of the debt centre.

The list of things that you can help with is long and varied.

But it is totally achievable.

God is with us and is wanting us to work together to help the people of Wythenshawe and SK8, to relieve the burden of their debt, to free them from their worries and to help them to see that God is with them and helping them.
